A días de su participación en los premios Billboard Latinos, Emilia Mernes presentó junto a Carlos Vives, Wisin y Xavi “Somos Más”, la canción oficial de Telemundo para el Mundial de la FIFA 2026. El anuncio se realizó en el marco de la Billboard Latin Music Week 2025, en Miami, y marcó un nuevo hito en la carrera internacional de la artista entrerriana.
Durante el panel “The Music of the World Cup”, Mernes compartió escenario con los reconocidos músicos y la periodista de Telemundo Carlota Vizmanos. Allí, hablaron sobre el proceso creativo detrás del himno mundialista y la responsabilidad de representar el espíritu latino en un evento global. “Ser argentina y poder estar acá representando, de alguna forma, a mi país, es un honor muy grande”, expresó Emilia.
Con su característico humor, la intérprete de “No se ve” también se permitió bromear ante el público: “Soy una chica muy humilde, como toda argentina”, dijo entre risas. Luego, agregó: “¿Qué te puedo decir? Campeones del mundo…”.
Mernes destacó la importancia cultural del fútbol y cómo conecta a las personas más allá del deporte. “El fútbol es algo con lo que nacemos. Es familia, amigos, mate y asado. Es una manera de estar juntos”, afirmó. Aunque reconoció no ser fanática, subrayó que comprende perfectamente el sentimiento que une a los argentinos cada vez que la Selección sale a la cancha.
El encuentro cerró con un momento viral que recorrió las redes: cuando les preguntaron a los artistas qué necesita una canción del Mundial para ser exitosa, Carlos Vives respondió sin dudar: “A Emilia”. Wisin, entre risas, lo secundó con un “A Emilia”.
