Los abogados de Martín Insaurralde presentaron una solicitud formal para cerrar la causa por presunto enriquecimiento ilícito y lavado de dinero que tramita en el juzgado federal de Lomas de Zamora. Los letrados Fernando Pinto y Nicolás Maciel argumentan que una pericia contable incorporada recientemente al expediente demostraría que el exintendente puede justificar su crecimiento patrimonial a través de los ingresos de su expareja, Jésica Cirio.
Según la interpretación que presentaron los abogados del exjefe de Gabinete, la pericia reduce el presunto desfasaje patrimonial a apenas 19,8 millones de pesos distribuidos a lo largo de quince años. Los letrados sostienen que ese faltante desaparece cuando se analiza la economía de la pareja en conjunto, ya que los ingresos declarados por la exconductora de Telefe como promotora, actriz y modelo explican el crecimiento patrimonial.
Sin embargo, el fiscal federal Sergio Mola no comparte esta posición. El magistrado afirma que la pericia no aclaró las dudas que dieron origen a la investigación. Por su parte, el juez Luis Armella considera que el informe muestra inconsistencias que requieren nuevas medidas de prueba antes de resolver la situación procesal de Insaurralde y Cirio.
Entre las tareas pendientes figura incorporar al expediente una grabación donde se ve a la exconductora mostrando grandes fajos de dólares en un vestidor que, según la teoría de la fiscalía, pertenecería a una vivienda ubicada en San Vicente atribuida al exintendente. La pericia pudo reconstruir los ingresos de Insaurralde entre 2003 y 2023, y los de su exmujer desde 2014.
