Un informe estadístico elaborado por una organización no gubernamental dedicada a la seguridad vial revela que, hasta mediados de diciembre, la provincia contabiliza 50 personas fallecidas, 195 heridos graves y más de 3.600 siniestros viales. Los números, duros y persistentes, reafirman que la problemática sigue lejos de resolverse, incluso en un contexto donde algunos meses mostraron leves descensos.
El relevamiento, actualizado hasta noviembre, registra 3.668 incidentes viales en todo el territorio provincial. Si bien noviembre cerró con una baja cercana al 15% en comparación con meses anteriores, desde la ONG advierten que ese alivio es frágil. La experiencia de años previos muestra que diciembre suele ser uno de los períodos más complejos, atravesado por mayor circulación vehicular, viajes por las fiestas, actividades recreativas y un consumo de alcohol que se incrementa.

Durante el año se contabilizaron 1.522 personas con lesiones leves, que incluyen cortes, esguinces y traumatismos menores, con un promedio mensual que oscila entre 109 y 179 casos. Sin embargo, el dato que más alarma es el de los 195 heridos graves, un número que se mantiene alto y constante.
En este grupo se incluyen víctimas con fracturas múltiples, traumatismos de cráneo, amputaciones, pérdida de miembros superiores o inferiores y trastornos psicológicos. Son personas que, en muchos casos, ven alterada de forma permanente su vida cotidiana y su autonomía. Desde la ONG remarcan que estas consecuencias no solo impactan en las víctimas directas, sino también en sus familias y en el sistema de salud, que debe absorber tratamientos prolongados y rehabilitaciones complejas.
El análisis estadístico identifica con claridad los puntos más conflictivos del mapa vial neuquino. Las rutas nacionales 22, 7, 237 y 40 concentran la mayor cantidad de siniestros, en especial en tramos donde conviven tránsito pesado, viajes de larga distancia y desplazamientos diarios por trabajo o estudio. Son corredores estratégicos para la provincia, pero también escenarios frecuentes de choques graves y accidentes fatales.
Si bien el descenso registrado en noviembre fue leído como una señal positiva, desde la organización insisten en que no alcanza. Diciembre, remarcan, exige un refuerzo sostenido de controles, dispositivos móviles de prevención y presencia en rutas clave. “No podemos relajarnos. Es un mes históricamente crítico y cada año lo confirma”, señalaron desde la ONG al presentar los datos.
El informe no se limita a exponer cifras. También subraya la importancia de sostener políticas de educación vial, campañas de sensibilización y acciones de concientización que atraviesen a toda la sociedad, desde conductores particulares hasta transportistas y peatones. Para la organización, la prevención sigue siendo la herramienta más eficaz para reducir la siniestralidad en el mediano y largo plazo.
En ese marco, destacaron el trabajo articulado que se mantiene a lo largo del año con áreas estatales como Tránsito de la Municipalidad, la Secretaría de Movilidad, el área de Consumos Problemáticos y la Policía, especialmente los equipos de Planeamiento y la Dirección de Tránsito.
