Una denuncia anónima permitió rescatar a 16 trabajadores que eran explotados en un taller textil clandestino ubicado en Parque Avellaneda, en la Ciudad de Buenos Aires. El operativo fue llevado adelante por el Departamento Federal de Investigaciones (DFI) de la Policía Federal Argentina (PFA), en el marco de una causa judicial que investiga el delito de trata de personas.
Las víctimas soportaban jornadas laborales extenuantes, trabajaban sin estar registradas y eran controladas de manera permanente dentro de la fábrica. Los investigadores comprobaron que los empleadores se turnaban para vigilar a las víctimas durante las 24 horas del día, evitando que abandonaran el lugar o interrumpieran sus tareas. El taller funcionaba con la persiana siempre baja, lo que exponía a los trabajadores a condiciones de inseguridad y riesgos para su salud.
La investigación se inició a partir de un llamado a la Línea 145, destinada a recibir denuncias sobre trata y explotación de personas. Un vecino del barrio alertó sobre el funcionamiento del establecimiento ubicado sobre la calle Tomás Álvarez de Acevedo al 1800. Con intervención de la jueza María Servini, a cargo del Juzgado Nacional en lo Criminal y Correccional N° 1, efectivos del Departamento Trata de Personas realizaron tareas de inteligencia y vigilancias encubiertas durante varios días para confirmar la denuncia.
Durante el allanamiento fueron identificados siete presuntos responsables y quedó detenido un hombre que tenía un pedido de captura vigente por otra causa. Los policías verificaron que el establecimiento no contaba con habilitación y que ninguno de los empleados estaba registrado formalmente en el sistema.
