El Hospital Provincial Neuquén “Dr. Eduardo Castro Rendón” conmemoró sus 113 años de trayectoria con una agenda que combinó actividades abiertas a la comunidad, espacios de encuentro para el personal y la puesta en valor de los proyectos de obra que ampliarán su capacidad operativa. Como hospital de referencia y de alta complejidad del sistema público de la Patagonia, la institución aprovechó el aniversario para reafirmar su compromiso con una atención accesible, integral y humanizada dirigida a las y los neuquinos.
Como parte de los festejos, el sábado 27 de junio se realizó una jornada de salud gratuita y abierta en la que se atendió a más de 300 personas mediante controles, estudios preventivos, consejerías y acciones de promoción de la salud. Se habilitaron consultorios de control de niño sano y vacunación, espacios de educación para personas con diabetes, atención ginecológica con toma de PAP y test de HPV, consejería y acceso a métodos anticonceptivos, control de presión ocular y evaluación visual en adultos, controles de salud bucal, ecografías mamarias, test rápidos de VIH, electrocardiogramas y capacitaciones en reanimación cardiopulmonar (RCP). El lunes 29 de junio la celebración continuó con el tradicional chocolate caliente y torta compartidos entre trabajadores y pacientes, actividad organizada junto a la Asociación Cooperadora del hospital, el Ejército Argentino y la Municipalidad de Neuquén.
Durante el aniversario, la directora general del hospital, Silvia Alegría, subrayó el crecimiento sostenido de la institución y el compromiso de sus equipos de salud. Destacó que el Hospital Provincial Neuquén es una referencia de alta complejidad que todos los días asume el desafío de responder a las necesidades sanitarias de la comunidad, fortaleciendo la accesibilidad, la humanización de los cuidados y el trabajo en equipo. También expresó un reconocimiento especial al personal de cada servicio y sector, enfatizando que cada trabajador y trabajadora cumple un rol clave para sostener una salud pública de calidad, cercana y capaz de abordar patologías complejas.
En paralelo, se resaltaron las obras de infraestructura que ya comenzaron a ejecutarse y que tendrán impacto directo en la atención de los pacientes y en las condiciones laborales del personal. Entre ellas se encuentra la remodelación y ampliación del Servicio de Neonatología, único servicio de terapia intensiva neonatal del sistema público provincial y centro de referencia regional. El proyecto permitirá unificar la prestación en una sola planta, sumar un quirófano propio, salas de aislamiento, un espacio para extracción de leche humana, habitaciones para madres provenientes del interior y ámbitos específicos para capacitación y acompañamiento a las familias. Además, se iniciará la ampliación y refacción del Servicio de Nefrología, destinada a fortalecer la atención de personas con enfermedades renales, con un plazo de ejecución previsto de 365 días.
A estas intervenciones se suma la construcción de nuevos vestuarios para el personal, con un edificio de 400 metros cuadrados, capacidad para 240 lockers, duchas y sanitarios, que mejorará las condiciones de trabajo y liberará espacios actualmente ocupados en áreas de internación. Con fondos propios del hospital ya se concretaron remodelaciones en la sala de admisión y egreso de pacientes, el servicio de Radiología, el estar de Maestranza del tercer piso y la Secretaría y Despacho del segundo piso, y en julio comenzará la refacción del Servicio de Odontología ubicado sobre calle Santa Fe 350. Para Alegría, todas estas obras representan un paso fundamental para seguir creciendo, elevar la calidad de la atención y acompañar el desarrollo del hospital de mayor complejidad de la Patagonia.
